It rained in Georgia the week of July 4th. Quite a few people took vacation time, and most of that time was spent indoors avoiding the showers & thunderstorms that glided over the state.
But some… some were intrepid adventurers… and braved the scowling clouds, defying the skies to open before they were through with their journey!
…… Ok, I got a little carried away there. But the trip to Zoo Atlanta was so much fun! It was our own little safari – and muggy enough that we could have been in the Amazonian Rainforest. (Or at least, that’s what it felt like to one who was slathered in sunblock.) The animals weren’t impressed either; quite a few of them were curled up & snoozing away in whatever shade they could find. But others were relishing their afternoon & I swear, looked like they were posing for us.
We had a reasonably temperate day, but the clouds were rolling overhead the whole time we were out. Actually made it a little more interesting, if you ask me. But the rain held off until we were done touring about (the first few drops splashed down just as we were wrapping up to head home), and a wonderful time was had by all.
Here are just a few of the images captured ‘in the jungle’.
